About PV Tree Service

We are a small crew, four people, with a combined 24 years of hands-on experience in the trade. Small enough that the owners are on site, big enough to own the equipment that the difficult jobs actually require.

What we do

Tree removal, crane-assisted removal, trimming and pruning, land and lot clearing, storm and emergency response, tree health and hazard assessment, cabling and bracing, and commercial and municipal work. We have completed more than 150 projects in the area.

We do not currently offer stump grinding, and we will tell you that up front rather than after the estimate.

We own heavy equipment

Bucket trucks, cranes, chippers, and a skid steer. That is the real difference between us and a lot of the smaller outfits in the area. A dead eighty-foot maple leaning over a garage, a tree wedged against a power drop, a hung-up limb over a driveway — those are jobs that need a crane, not a longer ladder. We take on work other crews turn down because we have what it takes to do it safely.

We are fully insured

Licensed and fully insured, with certificates available on request. This matters more than most homeowners realize. If an uninsured crew damages your house or someone gets hurt on your property, that can land on your homeowners policy. Ask any tree service you are considering for proof of insurance, including us.

Free estimates, and the estimate is the price

Every quote is free and carries no obligation. We come out, walk the property with you, look at access and what is under the tree, and give you a firm written number. That number is what you pay. No hidden costs, no discovering halfway through that the price has moved.

Written agreements, no long-term contracts

Every job comes with a clear written agreement covering scope, timeline, and price. We work job to job. There is nothing to lock into and nothing to cancel.

Where we work

We are based in Northfield and work throughout Franklin County — Greenfield, Gill, Bernardston, Erving, Montague and Turners Falls, Warwick, Orange, Deerfield and the surrounding towns. Because Northfield sits close to two state lines, we also regularly work in southern New Hampshire and southeastern Vermont, including Winchester, Hinsdale, Vernon, and Brattleboro. Our hours

Weekdays we run 3:00 to 8:00 PM, and weekends 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, which means we can often get to a property after you are home from work rather than requiring you to take a day off. Storm and emergency work is handled outside the normal schedule.
