PV Tree Service clears land for homeowners, builders, farmers, and landowners across Franklin County, from a single overgrown house lot to multi-acre parcels. We run our own bucket trucks, chippers, and skid steer equipment, so we can handle both the standing timber and the brush and slash that comes with it.
It depends on acreage, how dense and how large the growth is, terrain and wet ground, and what happens to the material afterward. Clearing mature hardwood off a sloped acre is a much bigger job than knocking down ten years of brush on flat ground. We walk the parcel with you, talk through what you actually want the land to look like when we are done, and give you a written estimate and timeline before we start.
You have options, and they affect price. Brush can be chipped on site and blown back into the woods or hauled off. Merchantable trunks can be cut to firewood length and stacked for you, which many landowners here want. Larger volumes can be hauled out. Tell us your preference at the estimate.
It depends on scale and location. Work in or near wetlands, streams, vernal pools, or riverfront areas, including the Connecticut and Millers River corridors, generally triggers review by your town’s Conservation Commission under the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act. Some towns have additional local bylaws, and clearing tied to a building project usually gets reviewed as part of permitting. Larger forestry operations can require a state Forest Cutting Plan.
We are not a permitting authority and we will not tell you a project is fine when we are not sure. For anything near water, wetland, or a road right-of-way, check with the Northfield Conservation Commission or your own town’s equivalent before work starts. We are glad to help you figure out what applies.
Most landowners clear more than they needed to. Before we start we will walk the parcel and flag which trees are healthy and structurally sound enough to be worth keeping, and which are going to become a problem once the trees around them are gone and they are suddenly wind-exposed. That last point catches a lot of people out.
